The Cape is loaded with great restaurants, lively music and dance venues, and lots of fun things to do at night. But if you’re a washashore like we are, discovering those places and things isn’t easy. So we unselfishly threw ourselves into the task of figuring it out. This website, along with our Facebook page and our free mobile app, are designed to let us share what we’ve learned with you — whether you are a washashore, a tourist, or even a native Cape Codder.
To read our reviews, or to use our search tool to search for restaurants by location or food type, download The Washashores App. All the places we’ve reviewed are places we’ve enjoyed and which have earned our Washashores Seal of Approval. We hope you’ll enjoy them, too! As we discover new places and things to do, we’ll tell you about them as well.
The Washashores App also provides loads of great info about things to do on the Cape at night. You’ll find several different event calendars, an interactive list of Cape Cod bands and musicians, and our especially popular “Picks of the Week” list. There’s no better way to stay informed about what’s happening on Cape Cod at night than through the Washashores App.
If you’d like to share information about things you’ve discovered, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us through Facebook, send us a message throught the Community Chat feature in the Washashores App, or send us an email at washashoreslife@gmail.com. We look forward to exploring the Cape with you!

Washashores Founders
Washashores was founded by the husband-and-wife team of Stephen Porter and Audrey Doyle, who moved to Cape Cod in May 2022. Together they founded Washashores as a way of helping people discover all the great restaurants and fun things to do on the Cape at night. Their own journey of discover is an ongoing one, and they enjoy sharing that journey with others. While the two sadly separated as a couple in late 2025, their friendship and love of the Cape continues on.
Steve worked for many years as a technology journalist and a communication specialist for various academic institutions. While he spent most of his vacations at the beaches and in the mountains of New Hampshire, he has quickly come to love life on the Cape and is thankful his life’s path has led him here.
Audrey is a writer and editor who has worked for magazine and book publishers throughout her career and now freelances from home. She has been coming to the Cape all her life and is delighted to finally realize her dream of making it her full-time home.
