The Portside Tavern in Hyannis is not only an architecturally beautiful venue, the TV screen that hangs over its large bar may well be the biggest screen we’ve ever seen indoors. Moreover, it is visible from both the first and second floor. That’s two floors of viewing space. Watching the big game here is a special experience.
Tomatillos Southwestern Grill, BBQ & American Cantina in Sandwich offers what we consider one of the most attractive venues for watching sports. A giant screen over the dance floor and a multitude of screens scattered around the rest of the restaurant makes viewing easy. Plus, the food is amazing!
Dino’s Sports Bar & Grille in Mashpee offers just about anything you could ask for in a sports bar. Ton’s of TV screens, big sports murals on the walls, and tasty pub fare. You know you’ll find enthusiastic fans here to share the game with.
The Sea Dog Brew Pub in South Yarmouth doesn’t bill itself as a sports bar, but it could. The bar area of this spacious restaurant has TV screens everywhere. Just pick a seat and settle in and you’re guaranteed a good view of the action.
emBargo in Hyannis sports just about the best bar we’ve come across on the Cape. It’s large and circular, and it promotes the kind of social interaction that makes for a great sports viewing atmosphere. Plus it has TV screens galore that can be seen from just about any seat in the house.
Oliver’s & Planck’s in Yarmouth Port may be more restaurant than bar, but the nautical-themed bar that sits in one section of the restaurant certainly provides a cozy spot to watch sports. And the abundance of TV screens are not only easily viewable to those with a seat at the bar but to those in the booths and high tops that surround it.
The Local Tavern & Grille in Sandwich provides the ultimate pub experience. It’s got a great bar area, a gaming room with a pool table and some arcade machines, awesome food, and always a good crowd of customers. And, of course, it has plenty of TV screens.
Jake Rooney’s in Harwich Port and The Loft in South Yarmouth have been two of our favorite nighttime spots for music, dancing, and karaoke for the past couple years. But both also offer great bar areas that are highly social and that are equipped with a decent array of TV screens. Two fun places to watch the big game with other enthusiastic locals.
The Lanes Bowl & Bistro in Mashpee provides a unique opportunity to combine your big game watching with a little bowling. The lively bar area of this unique venue offers plenty of seating and standing room, and there are plenty of TV screens to make game viewing possible from any spot in the house. And at half time, you can fit in a quick string!
Sandwich Taverna in Sandwich has a smallish bar, but it makes up for that with a bank of TV screens that face out to the large dining area of the restaurant. So regardless of where you sit, you’ll have a good view of the action.
The Tap City Grille in Hyannis provides what looks like a fun pub atmosphere to watch the big game. Not every seat has a great view of a screen, but if you are in the right spot, you’ll no doubt be able to enjoy the game with a large group of like-minded fans.
Bobby Byrne’s Restaurant & Pub in Hyannis is a pub with loads of character. We can only imagine how fun it might be to watch the big game here. An array of TV screens service the bar area, while a separate dining area that could easily handle several groups of people features a giant screen. We know the food is great. We bet the game-time experience is as well.
We round out our Top 16 Places list with a 3-way tie between The Parrot Bar & Grille in Cataumet, The Red Nun Bar & Grill in Dennis Port, and The Sand Dollar in South Dennis. These are three great local bars with great local character and a decent array of TV screens for game viewing. All worthy places to go to watch a game, either by yourself or with a small group of friends.
